The plate to Giovanni Segantini fallen in the canal is located in Via della Cinta in Arco. It is located a few tens of meters away from the monument that recalls the birthplace of Segantini.
At the age of 4, Giovanni Segantini fell into this canal, risking death. He was saved by Domenico Morghen. Morghen received an award from the Austrian administration for this gesture. Segantini writes about the success:
‘I remember I passed under a stone bridge: the water ran violently; over the bridge, laundresses stood along the shore, and I still see them with their arms high, faces upset, shouting’
