Descrizione
The Capital of the Plague is located in Cologna, a fraction of the town of Tenno. It is located in a beautiful olive grove. From here you have a beautiful panoramic view of Garda Trentino and Lake Garda.
You can reach the capital with different solutions.
The easiest is to park the car in Cologna and then take Via dei Capitelli, a few minutes downhill and you are at the location. Another solution is to park the car in Gavazzo and take the path of ‘Gola’ that goes up along the valley to reach the Tenno castle. The path is dirt and sometimes cemented, surrounded by olive groves and terraces with dry stone walls. The capital is located at the intersection of two streets and is surrounded, of course, by beautiful olive trees. The capital is a votive shrine and was built after the pandemic of 1630. The fresco on the main facade depicts the Madonna di Loreto with San Rocco and San Sebastiano.
