The term giuseppinismo (in German Josephinismus) refers to the ecclesiastical policy of Giuseppe II d’Asburgo-Lorena implemented from 1780 to 1790 and aimed at reducing the authority of the Catholic Church in the Habsburg Monarchy of the Holy Roman Empire. It was a particularly extreme form of jurisdictionalism compared to other contemporary European cases.
