Descrizione
The Castle of Arco, is located on top of an imposing rocky outcrop. It dominates the city of Arco and the plain of the river Sarca. The first records of the castle date back to the 12th century. The place where the castle stands has been a refuge for the cenoman tribes since around 300 B.C.
You reach the castle of Arco with a beautiful walk through the olive trees. Inside you can visit the lawn of Lizza from where you have a beautiful view of the area. Under the meadow of Lizza is the herb garden. Going up to the castle you can visit the prison of the stone, the great tower, the rivellino and numerous rooms.
In a room there is the multimedia center, a video that traces the history and events of the castle. The various medieval Gothic frescoes found in this room are explained. There are ladies playing chess, knights, battle paintings that can be visited in the “Sala dei Giochi“. Frescoes that cannot be photographed.

Summer hours (April to September): 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
March to October: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Winter hours (November to February): 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
In January (after the Epiphany) and February the opening is only on Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m. – 16 p.m.
1 hour before closing is not allowed access to the upper part of the castle
