Descrizione
The hydroelectric power plant of Fies is located along the road from Alto Garda to the north. It’s one of the most important examples of industrial archaeology in the region. Today it is an art factory after the downsizing of electricity production.
The power plant of Fies began its production in 1909 in order to cover the energy needs of the municipality of Trento. It’s built along the bank of the Sarca River. Over the years it has undergone various changes to accommodate the growing demand for energy. Since 2000, the large halls of the power plant have been used, thanks to a renovation work as a cultural production center for theatre and performing arts, a laboratory of ideas known worldwide where electricity is converted into art production.
