Descrizione

The church of the Annunciation of Mary is located in the main square of Varone, a hamlet of Riva del Garda. The church dates back to the nineteenth century.
It was designed in 1846 and then built. Built to replace the ancient church of Santa Maria del Pernone no longer suitable for the needs of the faithful for its small size. The church was built between 1865 and 1888 and was blessed on 22 November 1885 and consecrated in 1888. During the First World War the roof was hit and damaged. Roof rebuilt in 1927. The interior of the church is decorated by Agostino Aldi in 1931 It becomes parish church in 1953. Between 1960 and 1965 the church is the subject of total restoration and also in 1976 it was restored after the earthquake.
Description

The church of the Annunciation of Mary is oriented to the east. The facade is characterized by triangular pediment and by the portal with architraves and with a bezel window. The bell tower is located north of the presbytery. Inside there is a nave divided into three bays. The second, larger, is opened by two side mirrored chapels. The presbytery is raised on two steps. The floor of the presbytery and the nave is of white and red limestone tiles.
