The Church of S. Rocco is the most beautiful example of sacred art in the area, certainly the most richly frescoed. It was built at the end of the fifteenth century.
It is not certain but probably to remember the wedding of Odorico d’Arco and Susanna Collalto (the parents of Nicolò d’Arco): the date can be assumed between 1480 (before Odorico was married to Cecilia Gonzaga) and 1490.
The church of S. Rocco has a single nave and square plan plus a presbytery, also square. All the spaces inside are completely frescoed. There are stories from the Bible and the Gospels. Some scenes recall the wedding between Susanna and Odorico.
However, news of the church can be found only from the seventeenth century, and especially in the reports of the pastoral visits of the sixteenth century, which so much information gives of the other churches present in the area, never mentions the church of Caneve: This suggests that for a long time the sacred building was private property of the Counts of Arco and not a place of worship open to the community.
