Historical information about the church of San Rocco
The beginning of the work of the church is around 1811. With the offerings of the inhabitants of Campi in 1812 the masonry is completed. In 1820 is built the vault of the church. The stucco decoration of the presbytery is 1827. On 10 September 1839 the church of San Rocco was consecrated by Bishop Giovanni Nepomuceno Tschiderer.
Between 1839 and 1868 the bell tower was built. In the summer of 1866 the church was desecrated by the Garibaldians and in the autumn of the same year it was again blessed. In 1924 it was restored and in 1926 it became a parish, on 26 October. Later it was restored in 2002 and 2012.
The church
The building is oriented to the northeast. It has a simple tripartite facade. In the central area there is an architraved portal and a low arch window. In the lateral sectors there are two arched niches without statues. On the north-west side of the presbytery stands the bell tower. The bell tower has a cell illuminated by four single lancet windows and surmounted by an octagonal drum. The cover is onion.
The interior has a single nave. The presbytery, raised on three steps and bordered by a stone balustrade, is concluded by a semicircular apse. Stucco reliefs adorn the barrel vault of the presbytery.
