Descrizione

The church of San Valentino is located in Vignole, a hamlet of the municipality of Arco.
Its origin dates back to the 9th century. This dating is due to the small relief sculpture of the Lombard era that is on the lunette above the portal of the facade.  On the interior walls of the room there are fragments of decorations made with tempera depicting the life and passion of Jesus. Decorations that can be dated around the sixteenth century. On the walls there are frescoes from two centuries earlier than these.
For the first time the place of worship is named in the acts of the pastoral visit of the prince bishop Bernardo Clesio of 1537. On the door of the sacristy there is the date of 1584 and probably refers to works performed. The bell tower on the east side was built in the 17th century and in 1615 the building was painted. The church was consecrated in 1636 by the Prince Bishop of Trento Carlo Emanuele Madruzzo.

It was restored and expanded between the 19th and 20th centuries. The church of San Valentino was restored in 1955 with the replacement of the floor of the hall and the exterior of the church was painted. In 1972 the copper roof was renovated. Other works were carried out in 2002 and 2005. New stained glass windows, flooring and installations are made.
