Descrizione

The church, dedicated to S. Zeno, patron saint of Verona, is located at the top of the homonymous hill that in the Middle Ages housed a tower, documented in 1213, one of the four elements of the medieval fortified system, based on Castel Pénede, control of the road from Torbole to Nago. Inside the remains of this tower was obtained, at an unknown time, a cemetery. The church, flanked by a small room that between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries housed a hermit, dates back to the sixteenth century. It was curated by the Brotherhood of the SS. Trinity. Considered a useless and unproductive institution, this brotherhood was dissolved in 1782 by order of Emperor Joseph II and his assets auctioned off.
