Descrizione
La Toresela is isolated in the countryside of Riva del Garda, towards Via Graz. It’s a building about 8 meters high, a watchtower (apparently) medieval.
It is a bird, an artifact widespread for hunting around which were planted sorbs and other plants that attracted birds. The time of realization is not certain, probably nineteenth century.
It is part of the neo-Gothic taste of the late nineteenth century, intended to embellish and decorate buildings, facades and anything else with direct expression of the romantic culture that spread in Europe from the late eighteenth century in contrast to the Enlightenment.
The Toresela is currently in a state of advanced degradation, also because the building is made of sandstone. Parts of the battlements and the internal floors have fallen, risking to fall also part of the access steps.
The approach and access are forbidden.
