Descrizione
Built just below fort Sant’Alessandro between 1898 and 1900, strong Batteria di Mezzo was placed to control the furrow of Loppio and the slopes of the Altissimo. The firing of his artillery was to stop any attempts at Italian penetration from Rovereto and render unusable the Mori-Arco-Riva railway, inaugurated in 1891. The work, in Vogl style, has a thick stone masonry and concrete covering. During the war it was equipped with a long tunnel that came out with an observatory and two gunboats on the east wall of Mount Brione.
