Descrizione

The Monastery of the Servants of Mary is located in Arco, in Via Mantova. It was built in 1689 by the founder Arcangela Biondini di Venezia. The monastery was built with a donation from Emperor Leopold. Emperor who later continued to subsidize the monastery.

The Monastery of the Servants of Mary is built next to the church of the Madonna of Reggio. The church was built as an extension of the capital of the Madonna della Ghiara. The church has a single nave that ends with the presbytery. In the presbytery is placed the capital with the image of the Madonna. There are grates from where the cloistered nuns attend religious services without being seen. They are above the altar. On the ceiling there are frescoes of holy friars. Until the mid-twentieth century it was the seat of a girls’ school. It still houses cloistered nuns. Half of the convent has been sold and now there is an accommodation facility.
