Municipal Palace is mentioned for the first time in a map of the eighteenth century. It was the seat of the mountain of piety. Founded in 1492 by the City had a room for the assemblies of citizens. Built between 1475 and 1482 as inscriptions with dates on the facade. Built under the Venetian domination.
Originally it was lower than the current one. Inside the staircase and walls frescoed with scenes of war ‘of colossal magnitude’ already compromised before the recent restoration.
In the nineteenth century the restorations included the Palazzo Municipale with the Palazzo Pretorio and the Porta Bruciata, which connects with Piazza San Rocco. On the wall facing the square stands the coat of arms of George of Neideck, who took back the city after the defeat of the Venetians in 1509.
