Descrizione
Palazzo Termine or della Lega is located in Via Vergolano in the center of Arco. The Palace, entering the street with the collegiate church to your left is about 50 meters on the right.
The story of the palace was born from Andrea and Odorico, sons of Francesco d’Arco. The two brothers were often in a fight with each other. To resolve their disagreements they decided to split the count of Arco in two. The border passed between the Palazzo Nuovo and the Palazzo di Odorico known as the Palazzo del Termine.
The building is from the second half of the fifteenth century. The structure is a quadrilateral with a large internal courtyard all frescoed. The interior of the palace of the League is also frescoed. Worthy of note is the under eaves of the inner curtain with the stories of ancient Rome alternated with the coats of arms of the Tyrolean Empire and the chaste linked to the Arco family. The author of the frescoes is Dionisio Bonmartini. On the ground floor the vault is frescoed with the imperial eagle that contains the coats of arms of the states subjects of Emperor Charles V. There is also the portrait of Niccolò d’Arco, poet.
Since the nineteenth century the palace had several owners. Among the owners there was also the farmers’ association, here is the name ‘of the league’.
