Descrizione

Morocco Square can be reached through the characteristic Morocco district. The square is a widening in an area where in ancient times the castle was mentioned as in ruins in 1483 by Marin Sanudo. This is perhaps the origin of the name of the square to which the square belonged in the fifteenth century. From the square you can still see the medieval walls of which you can read the walkways from the inside of some houses, and the remains of three towers, now incorporated into the town. In the district in the modern age there was a brothel and in the nineteenth century the Moscardini Tower housed the judicial prisons. Even today behind some houses you can see small terraced gardens and catch delicious views of the ancient walls.
